#20 VTG Holt Howard PIXIE ELF N O E L Candle Holders 1958 Japan Candles. Each elf is made of white ceramic and finished with a high gloss clear glaze. The hand painted faces are very expressive and are NOT glazed. There is an overall tiny pattern of red holly berries and green holly leaves painted on the bodies and on the metallic gold tassel-tipped caps they are wearing. Included is a vintage box of Colonial Candles of Cape Cod (8 of 12) to fit the holders. The box indicates that these are PINE scent but now do not smell. They measure approximately 3 ¼ to 3 ¾ high x 2 ¼ to 2 ½ wide. There is a small amount of melted wax over the JAPAN labels. The holders are on top of the heads, behind the caps. They all have gold paint extending around the backs of the pompoms. They show dark in the photos, but are not chips. We consider this item to be in very good vintage condition.
