I will pay the difference. I don’t why someone gave this tree a 1 star. Here’s a real 5 Star review from HD. This is my first artificial tree. I love real trees, for many years we went to the local tree farm to cut one of our choosing but I always lamented the “sacrifice” of a tree life for a few weeks of decoration. The cost was also getting pretty high for the fresh trees. I held out against a faux tree for years, never seeing one I thought looked remotely natural in a price range accessible to me. This year I seriously began thinking about investing in a natural-look tree, thinking I would have to spend a thousand dollars or more to obtain a level of realism I could tolerate, but my wallet kept protesting. I went to my local HD store and saw a number of trees on display and I was surprised by the level of realism achieved in the modestly priced Home Accents Holiday brand. The store display trees were smaller and not the same model line, but I thought since multiple versions of this brand were catching my eye that it may be reasonable to take a chance ordering the 10′ height I wanted online. I noted that this model has a higher “tip count” than other trees in this height, I like fullness and counted that as a favorable feature. The lights on the tree are warm white LED (no color change or flashing options) and the light bulb count is lower than most other trees in the height range; as I like the more natural look, I found this to be an agreeable feature also. It has one plug and a foot pedal to turn the lights on and off easily. The bottom diameter of the tree is smaller than most of the other 10 foot trees and I hesitated on this- I did not want a “slim” tree, it was difficult to judge the scale and impact from the online photo without any kind of backdrop. The tree was un-reviewed at the time of my order but the pre-season 25% off sale prompted me to volunteer as test subject. It arrived promptly in two very large heavy-duty reusable boxes fitted with carrying handles. The tree is four segments plus a stand. The branches are hinged at the trunk. The lights are on strings that have been clipped to the branches, they are small bulbs, discreet. The lights of each segment make contact through the trunk, no plugs to connect, just stack the segments and turn it on. The stand and the tree itself are very solid, sturdy and stable. It does have considerable weight. The fluff process takes time but is not difficult, you have a lot of volume to work with- this was my first time doing this, I spent about an hour working on it with the help of one of my daughters. I had to take the top section back down to fluff as it was too high for me to reach with my household step ladder and my husband didn’t want to go get the big ladder! The tree is not truly “slim”, I would call it “medium” and “just right” because it isn’t sucking up all the floor space in my parlor bay window. I turned the room lights down and the soft warm glow of this tree really took me back to childhood.
