Vintage Rushton 36 Santa Claus Rubber Face Tall 1957-60 Great Condition 3 Feet
Vintage Rushton Santa Doll Rubber Face Toy Atlanta GA. 40″ to the end of his hat, with his hat down he’s approximately 36″. This Santa is in very good condition, especially after seeing some of the others I’ve seen on here. When I received him he came with a can of coca cola, but it wasn’t in his hand anymore. He might have been a store display. His one hand has tape or something that was holding it. The can is an empty Christmas can of Coca Cola that I will send with him but it’s only from 2010. His beard and mittens are still white he has no rips or tears and boots are in pretty great condition. His face is great, no markings. He really is in amazing shape considering how old he is. The only thing I see wrong is the tape on the mitten but you can probably either take that off or put a can or bottle in his hand again, so i decided to just leave it instead of pulling it off, it might be easier to put glue on it if you want him to hold the can. He is approximately 40 to the tip of his hood. One more thing I had trouble getting him to stand alone, he can but he’s better if he’s leaning against something, maybe he’s top heavy. Please just remember he is old so he is not going to be perfect but I think he is in amazing shape considering he is from the late 50s. I originally had him listed as being from 60s but a very nice person reached out to me that knows a lot about Rushton’s and informed me that this Santa was made around 1957. They could tell by the belt, buckle and furry mittens. Apparently they switched from furry mittens to all cloth mittens in the 60s and stopped making the belt shiny. The person was 99% positive, but 1957 and no later than 1960. They became popular and they started making more in 1961 but they started using cheaper material.
