VINTAGE 1920′s-30′s pulp paper cardboard Father Christmas SANTA CLAUS display
RARE vintage/antique 1920′s/40′s pulp paper/cardboard SANTA CLAUS display. Hi and welcome to my listing for this rare pulp cardboard SANTA CLAUS display. Probably dating back to the 1920′s – 1940′s era he’s got a bag of toys and a Christmas tree while ringing a bell. The white trim on his coat has remnants of glitter. I believe originally he would have had just a cardboard pull out stand but this looks to have gone over the years and been replaced by a photo frame backing, again this looks to have some age 1960′s/70′s so not a modern enhancement but does give the advantage of being able to be stood up (although a little wobbly – may require adjustment/longer string) or to be hung up as a display. The figure is quite tall standing almost 20 inches (50 cm) high and measuring about 9 inches (23 cm) wide. Generally in good condition, his colour has faded a little over time and there is a little blob of red paint at the top of his hat but he has wonderful presence and character a real throw back to bygone times.
