Vtg Antq Fancy Wax Angel Christmas Tree Decoration? Offered here is the fancy bejeweled hanging wax Christmas tree decoration shown. Now, let me make it clear right off that I don’t know anything about such antiques. I can’t prove this is antique, or that it was made in Germany like most such antiques were, or anything about its age. Sure looks old or Victorian-style, but you’ll have to provide the expertise here. It measures 5″ tall, 3.5″ across and is probably about an inch thick. I’d say the figure is the baby Jesus, but I suppose it could be an angel or infant? The wax face appears hand-painted. There are two green “jewels, ” green ribbon around the figure, gold cloth behind. The only flaw, and I’m not certain that it is one, is that the whole ornament has a gentle bend. If you lay it flat on its back, both ends — top and bottom — are perhaps an eighth inch off the surface. But perhaps it was made that way? Otherwise I don’t see any damage or wear. I photographed it in a variety of light situations to hopefully show the detail. Now, since I have no idea of age I thus have no idea of value, and as a result I’m going to put a price on it and accept offers. To save us both time wasted negotiating, make YOUR BEST OFFER FIRST.
