Rare Meissen Crossed Swords Cobalt Cup & Saucer Set Hand Painted Courting Couple
This is a Rare Meissen Crossed Swords Cobalt Blue w/ Gold accent Tea / Demitasse Cup and Saucer Set with a Hand Painted Courting Couple Scene & Floral Artwork. This Set comes with wood display stands shown in pictures. The Set is in perfect condition with no cracks or chips. The Cup is 2 3/4″ tall and 2 1/2″ in diameter, and weighs 4.7 OZ. The Saucer is 1 1/4″ tall and 5 1/2″ in diameter, and weighs 5.8 OZ. Both the Cup and Saucer have the Meissen crossed sword maker’s mark on the bottom. This mark appears to be the mark that was used by Meissen from 1825 – 1924. The artwork on the Cup is of a courting couple in the countryside with a dog at their feet. This art scene is mostly rare and hard to find. The Saucer has a complimentary floral scene. Both the Cup and Saucer have a nice deep dark cobalt blue finish with gold accent artwork.
