Original Set of 6 Vintage Trumpet 1950′s Mercury Glass Christmas Tree Decorations. A very beautiful and exceptionally rare (complete set) of genuine mercury glass trumpets/horns. Made from true mercury glass, these have mercury trapped inside the glass. The mercury gives these pieces an exceptionally high shine finish unseen in modern equivalents of mercury glass, where paint or silver is used and in many cases only to the interior of the item – where it will still wear over time. Dating from the 1940′s – 1950′s they are most likely to originate from the glass blowing regions of Poland or Germany. The set comprises of 3 trumpets and 3 brass horns. The trumpets are gold, silver and blue. The brass horns an orange/gold, red/silver/green and red, silver and gold. They are in a very good condition, with wear consummate to age and mostly limited to the silver trumpet and orange/gold horn (rubbed paintwork visible in photos). Nicely sized pieces measuring roughly 10cm long by 5cm, these are exceptional pieces highly sought by collector and vintage enthusiasts. They have been boxed and gift wrapped to ensure they stay safe for years to come, or are ready for you to give as a gift to someone special, or maybe as a treat for yourself.
